The Great British Summer is upon us, but more excitingly, this July is now officially the month of Great British Pea Week, yes you read it right, a week dedicated to peas…which makes us extremely hap-pea! The UK is the largest producer and consumer of frozen peas in Europe and from July, approximately 700 pea growers will harvest 2 billion portions of peas to feed Britain for the year - now that is A LOT of peas!

Launched by the Yes Peas! campaign and UK pea growers, freezers and machinery companies, Great British Pea Week takes place on the second week of July (11th – 17th) and aims to increase awareness and understanding of the provenance and heritage of peas, giving everyone a reason to celebrate peas during harvesting time.

Join us in celebrating Great British Pea Week this July by cooking with peas and sharing your tasty recipes online via our Twitter and Facebook. We want to see your scrumptious delights, so whether it's a starter, main or dessert or simply a midday snack, we want to see all your pea inspired recipes. Whether you want to impress us with a delicious summery pea salad inspired by our Grilled Halloumi With Peas, Pine Nuts, Broad Beans And Rocket or Cajun Pea And Potato Salad With Spring Onion Dressing, or perhaps want to tempt us with a Spanish pea dish taking inspiration from our Pea And Seafood Brown Rice Paella With Saffron, now is the time to do it! So dust off your apron, get cooking and more importantly, get snapping those recipe pictures!
