Accessibility

Peas.org has worked hard to make this site as accessible to as many customers as possible, whether you have a disability or are simply not using the latest technology.

Hopefully you will find this site easy to use and will not encounter any accessibility related issues. However, below are some accessibility advice that may help you get more out of the site.

For customers who need larger text

We have tried to ensure that the text on this site is as readable as possible. However we recognise that some customers may need to enlarge the text further. The method you use to resize the default text size varies between browsers. Below we demonstrate how to change text size on the two main browsers; Internet explorer and Firefox.

Internet Explorer

To resize text in internet explorer go to view > text size and select the text size you require.

Firefox

In Firefox you can select to increase or decrease text size by pressing CTRL + or CTRL - respectively. Alternatively these options can also be found under view > zoom.

If your browser is not listed above additional instructions are available from the BBC.

For customers who struggle using a mouse

Many people also suffer from some form of motor control problem that can make using a mouse very difficult. Because of this, we have added "access keys" to this site. These act as shortcuts to key links on the page. The access keys are as follows:

If you are using Internet Explorer, to use the access keys hold down ALT while pressing the key. Once done you will need to press enter to activate the link.
If you are using Firefox, to use the access keys you need to hold down ALT and SHIFT while pressing the required key. Once pressed you will automatically be taken to the link.

For customers who use speech browsers

There are many speech browsers on the market each with a variety of different settings and options. We have done our best to ensure that this site works on the widest range of speech browser possible. However, if you do for any reason encounter a problem we would recommend you start by disabling Javascript from your custom settings (please refer to your software documentation for instructions on how to do this). If you are still encountering problems then please get in touch and we will do our best to assist you.

General help and advice

If you suffer from some form of disability whether visual, cognitive or motor related then you will be pleased to know there are many ways you can improve your browsing experience. For more details on how you can make the web more accessible visit the BBC accessibility website.
